Jack and the Beanstalk

Imagination, speculation, exploration, problem Solving.

Age Group: 3-7 (EYFS & KS1)

A participatory retelling of the traditional tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, the performance enrols children in the role of Jack's best friends. They arrive for a play date to find Jack has gone missing! Where has Jack gone, can we help his mum to find him? It's time for an adventure up the beanstalk to explore the land in the clouds and save Jack from the Giant.

Addresses the following areas of learning in the EYFS and KS1 Curriculum: 

  • Use spoken language to develop understanding through speculating, imagining and exploring.

  • Literacy.

  • Communication and Language.

  • Expressive Arts.

  • Personal, social and emotional development.

  • Self-regulation.

  • Artistic expression.

  • Understanding the world.

Outcomes / Participants will:

  • Be invited to co-construct the story by contributing their own ideas. 

  • Develop their vocabulary and storytelling skills. 

  • Practice imaginative and role play skills.

  • Develop storytelling language.

  • Learn how our actions have an effect on others.

  • Practice problem solving within the context of a story frame..

  • Develop vocabulary and storytelling skills.
