THE ROMAN EMPIRE'S IMPACT ON BRITAIN. 

The Romans examines the legacy of the Roman invasion of Britain and its relevance today. In role as archaeologists at the site of a newly discovered Roman Villa the pupils will uncover the everyday life and customs of Roman Britons. The participants go back in time to explore a mystery surrounding the fate of Celtic slaves and learn how close Boudica’s army came to the Midlands.  The classes develop a deeper awareness of both the role of the modern day archaeologist and those of the Roman masters and Celtic slaves in the villas of Roman Britain.

Split Second

Spring Term

PSHE, SAFEGUARDING, KNIFE CRIME AWARENESS.

The programme takes place in the ring of a boxing club and explores the story of two young people and how a split-second decision to carry a knife has an impact on their lives. The children are asked to comment on the decisions the characters have made, offer advice and investigate how and why some young people feel the need to carry knives. 

Split Second is a participatory performance which explores the causes and consequences of knife crime.

Resilience Quest 

Autumn Term

SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL WELLBEING, PROBLEM SOLVING, STORYTELLING. 

Journey into the mythical land of Allwood and uncover the story of Nimfoy, a hero braver than she believed, stronger than she seemed and smarter than she thought! When two friends find a statue dedicated to a lost hero, they begin a quest to bring her story back to life and celebrate her achievements. The Resilience Quest will transport the participants into a world of myths and monsters where they will help to reconstruct an exciting adventure story and examine what qualities make a true hero.

Careless Talk

Summer Term

PSHE, SAFEGUARDING, BRITISH VALUES, LITERACY 

The piece is set in the fictional town of Brodingham and tells the story of Scarlett, a young member of a minority community, The Circle, who are being persecuted by another group. The children are guided through a process where they find positive and peaceful solutions for the characters in this piece which promotes social responsibility, tolerance and respect.

Careless Talk is thought provoking workshop which explores how a young person could be groomed to take part in extremist action.
