NO KIDDING

AUTUMN TERM

Bullying, SMSC, Spoken English

Addresses requirements of Key Stage 1 curriculum:

  • Articulating arguments and opinions.

  • Considering others viewpoints and feelings.

  • Adopting and sustaining a role, responding appropriately to others in role.

The No Kidding workshop explores the issues of friendship and bullying while highlighting skills to resolve conflict.

Billy and Bally are two larger-than life entertainers who love playing tricks on each other. When the jokes go too far it’s up to the children to help them make friends again to perform their big finale. Amidst the slapstick and fun there is a serious lesson to be learnt about bullying and how we treat our friends.

Outcomes:

Children will:

  • Develop communication and social skills.

  • Deepen their understanding of the effects of bullying on others.

  • Practice skills and strategies to resolve conflict.

“Absolutely excellent. (No Kidding) Supports our behaviour and anti-bullying policies. The children were engaged and focused throughout and contributed excellent ideas.”    Year 1 Teacher, Kings Norton Primary School
