Ugly Duckling

Mummy Duck knows that Dumpling the duckling is beautiful, even with those strange coloured feathers and extra long legs. But the other ducklings are not so kind. So one day Dumpling flies away from home to escape the teasing words and begins the adventure of a lifetime. When Dumpling returns there is a surprise for everyone!

This interactive workshop uses puppetry and song and multi-sensory storytelling to bring to life the classic story of self-acceptance and kindness.

Addresses the following areas of learning in the EYFS and KS1 Curriculum: 

• Communication and Language.

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development. 

• Understanding the world. 

• Using spoken language to develop understanding through speculating, imagining and exploring.

Outcomes / Children will:​

• Develop their vocabulary and literacy skills. 

• Practice imaginative role play. 

• Learn how their actions have impact on others.

• Practice problem solving within the context of a story frame.
